Amarillo’s # 1 Morning Show brings two college pals and Texas Panhandle Broadcasting Hall Of Fame members together. If it’s Amarillo…Jamey & Morgan are talking about it.
Jamey Karr is a native of Tornillo, near El Paso, and moved to the panhandle to attend WT. He maintains he had never seen a fireplace until he got here. He met his wife Judy in McCaslin Hall, and they have two boys, two dogs, and one cat. Jamey loves the Dallas Cowboys (one dog is named Romo), snowy weather, and The Beatles. He’s great at Rock N Roll history, but can’t find his keys.
Morgan Tanner grew up in Vigo Park, and graduated from Tulia High School. She decided on a career in radio while attending WT, and became very popular very quickly. Morgan enjoys estate sales and gardening, and her dog Brody thinks she is the best mom ever. She loves to travel and tour cemeteries, when the weather is nice. Morgan insists the best chili rellenos are still at The El Camino in her hometown Tulia.
Tom Young is new to the Texas panhandle. He and his wife Rachael moved here from Illinois a couple of years ago. Tom grew up in Champaign, and found his way into radio. He’s a Chicago Bears fan, a Chicago Bulls fan, and well, you see where this is going. We are trying to “Texan-ize” Tom by sneaking in conversations about chicken fried steak, the Dallas Cowboys, and the comfort of a good pair of boots. He’s a sports nut, a video game fanatic, and has been suspected of frequenting karaoke bars.
