Award-Winning Songwriter JD Souther Dies At 78
JD Souther, the songwriter who penned hits for some of music’s biggest stars has died at the age of 78. An Amarillo native, Souther was a close collaborator with the Eagles, co-writing hits like “Heartache Tonight”, “Best of My Love”, and “New Kid In Town”. He worked with an impressive list of artists including Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, and Bob Seger. He also dated an impressive list of artists including Ronstadt and Stevie Nicks. Souther was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013. He died peacefully at his home in New Mexico.
