Biblical-Based Curriculum Approved In Texas
November 22, 2024 1:07PM CST
The Texas State Board of Education has approved a curriculum for public schools that leans heavily on stories from the Bible.
The narrow vote came despite opposition from some on the board, who feel that it violates the separation of church and State. Board Member Staci Childs warned, before the vote, that it will open the state up to lawsuits. The curriculum is not mandatory but districts that use the materials will get extra funding from the state.
