Another cooperative effort among multiple agencies has led to the arrest of 4 people, netting guns, drugs, and a stolen car.

Amarillo police officers from the Proactive Criminal Enforcement Unit (PACE), Neighborhood Police Officer Unit (NPO) and other divisions within APD directed an investigation into three recent drive-by shootings.

Intel gained from school resource officers identified a hangout location near N. Lincoln and a vehicle of local gang members were identified.

PACE officers spotted the vehicle and made a traffic stop near Western Plaza Drive. While executing that stop, officers observed shell casings from multiple guns inside the vehicle.

APD and DPS continued surveillance at the hangout location, later contacting a  17-year-old who was stopped on foot with a backpack containing multiple guns, methamphetamine and THC cartridges.

After gaining a search warrant for the hangout, officers seized an AR-15, a .380 pistol, 15 pounds of methamphetamine, THC wax, and drug paraphernalia. A stolen silver Dodge Charger was also recovered in the driveway along with more shell casings.

A second location was identified in which more drugs and paraphernalia was found.

Three juvenile males, ages 15, 16 and 16 were all booked into the Youth Center of the High Plains for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. 17-year-old Luis Ramirez was booked into Potter County Jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

That investigation continues.
