Soon-to-be Rock and Roll Hall of Famer,  Tina Turner has had a career like few others.  But, did you know she once sang backup on a Frank Zappa album? In 1971, Tina and the rest of the Ikettes were recording at a studio in California.  Zappa who was recording in the same studio, recruited them to sing on a few tracks for his landmark albums Apostrophe and Over-Nite Sensation. However, their appearance was uncredited – allegedly because Ike Turner did not approve of the album’s content and insisted their names be left off.  Zappa is himself a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, inducted in 1995 two years after his death.  Ike & Tina Turner were inducted in 1991 and Turner will enter the Hall as a solo act as part of the Class of 2021.
