Amarillo Interlibrary Loans

The Amarillo Public Library is now offering an interlibrary loan that allows books and other materials to be loaned from another library.

Participating libraries across the country agree to lend items from their collection to borrowing partners.

Through resource sharing, libraries can accommodate their client’s interests and needs.

Stacy Clopton, coordinator of PR and programming at Amarillo Public Library says “Amarillo Public Library was chosen as one of the first libraries in the state to implement the new system partly because we’re one of the top lenders and users of ILL in the state”

There’s no time frame set up for a request to arrive, but it’s expected to take several weeks, depending on the location.

Each client may only have 15 active requests at a time, and there’s a $3 fee for each loan request that will be billed to the client’s account once the item arrives.
