Lawrence Lake Equip Repairs

Continued repair work is going on at Lawrence Lake in Amarillo.

Work is being done by Dive teams and the City’s construction Department to repair pumps that failed after last year’s severe flooding.

Crews worked on the east side of the lake to repair, clean, or replace screens and pumps last week to ensure the lake is up to par to help avoid the events seen last year.

 West side screens and pumps should be is expected to be Monday, May 6.

The Drainage Department and the dive team, have also pulled the pumps on both ends to properly clean out any trash that settled within the pumps and wells.

City officials say excavation and drainage repairs are constantly going on to improve conditions at Lawrence Lake and surrounding playa lakes but that will take years down the road to complete
