Back In Custody

A 36-year-old man is back in custody after he stole an Upton County Sheriff’s Office transport vehicle, Thursday.

Benjamin Soliz was captured in Lubbock night at 9;18 p.m. by Lubbock Sheriff’s Office troopers in the 6700 block of Cedar.

They brought him back to the Lubbock County Detention Center for pending charges of stalking and theft. 

 DPS says the Upton County Sheriff’s Office contacted them around 2 p.m. after the inmate stole the truck, and described it with police markings.

Soliz then crashed the truck and proceeded to steal another vehicle, a Can=-Am, four-seater.

Lubbock Police, the Sheriff’s Office, and DPS, all helped in the search
