Dispatch Center Renovations

Dispatchers at the Amarillo Emergency Communications Center are looking at much-needed repairs to better serve dispatch services.

The two-month renovations at the Center included upgrades to technology to help dispatchers locate a caller, and acoustic and ceiling tiles.to cut down on noise between emergency calls and radio dispatch.

Locating a caller is very important when it comes to locating a cell caller, especially when trying to locate them through tracking “pings”‘ from different cell towers.

Funding for the renovations comes from Amarillo Emergency Communications Center, city council as well as the fire and police departments.
