Oldham County Meth Bust
A traffic stop in Oldham County, netted DPS 2-point-5 million dollars in Methamphetamine.
This happened on March 5th. a DPS trooper on patrol on I-40 witnessed a white Nissan Altima with Louisiana registration following another car too closely, changing lanes when unsafe, and displaying the wrong license plate.
The car was pulled over and Court documents state the trooper made contact with the driver and the front passenger, Oscar Luis Deleon.
The trooper learned the driver was driving a rental car out of Oklahoma City, and the driver also told the trooper she had marijuana inside the car.
A canine was called in to do a free-air sniff and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
Documents state during the interview, Deleon admitted that he picked up the meth from Scottsdale, Arizona, and was taking it back to Oklahoma. Deleon also said he was being paid for transporting the drugs, and the driver of the car was not aware the meth was being transported.
The total weight of the 54 baggies was about 57 pounds, according to documents.
Street value estimates the drugs are worth $2,585,480.
Deleon was taken to the Randall County Jail and booked for possession
