The agreement between the City of Amarillo and Randall County and the Randall County Sheriff’s Office will be part of the scheduled 1pm city council work session Tuesday, April 9. Conversation will also include the recent revelation of the Prop 1 Bond proceeds brought to light at the last city council meeting. Those funds were approved by Amarillo voters in 2016, but not all have been spent according to how the bonds were advertised.

The agenda for the 3 pm regular meeting contains consent items that include the expected acceptance of the Healthy Texas Mothers and Babies grant renewal, a fire extinguisher maintenance renewal, and what appears to be money budgeted for software, support and training for the finance department.

Non-consent items include a public hearing for the existing drought contingency plan. City staff are not recommending any change for the next five years. A public hearing regarding AEDC land near Farmers Road and Georgia Street is also on the agenda. That area is now being referred to as The South Georgia Business Park.

The clarification on the Massage Parlor vs. Establishment will also be presented.
