On Thursday, Adrian Rodriguez testified Xcel owns the power poles blamed for both the Smokehouse Creek and 687 Reamer fires.

President of Southwestern Public Service Company (Xcel Energy), Rodriguez. testified Xcel owns the power poles blamed for both the Smokehouse Creek and 687 Reamer fires, and first settlement checks are expected to be mailed soon to affected customers.

Rodriguez also testified that Xcel has a pole testing program designed to assess the strength and integrity of its poles.

An examination of the affected poles was carried out, and Xcel received the inspection report on Feb. 9.
